Summer Fun Flyer Pattern

Supply List:

  • “Summer Fun” patches - GET THEM HERE!
  • 1 skein of Red Heart Super Saver yarn or equivalent amount (236 yds) of acrylic or cotton yarn (1 skein makes ~3 flyers)
  • 4mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Darning Needle

    Needed Stitches - US TERMS:

    Slip Knot – to create beginning loop
    CH – Chain
    Sl St – Slip Stitch
    SC – Single Crochet
    HDC – Half Double Crochet
    DC – Double Crochet
    INC – Increase;  2 stitches into 1 stitch
    DEC – Decrease;  2 stitches joined together to create 1 stitch
    BLO – Back Loop Only – work into the back loops of working round
    YO – Yarn over
    ( ) – Stitch count

    Other  Information:

    • This Pattern is worked in JOINED ROUNDS.
    • Increases are staggered.
    • When crocheting onto patch, stitch gently and loosely to avoid warping or damaging the patch.
    • The slip stitch/chain counts as first stitch in each round and is included in the total stitch count for the round.
    • There is no gauge for this project, but the finished piece will be around 7.5” across.

      Pattern:

      R1.    Create Slip Knot. Join yarn to patch with right side facing you, and make a SC in 1st hole. SC again in same hole. Continue around patch adding 2 SC to each hole (12x), SL ST to top of 1st SC (24) 

      R2.    CH2, HDC INC (1 HDC, HDC INC) 11x, SL ST to top of CH2 (36)

      R3.    CH3, DC INC (2 DC, DC INC) 11x, DC, SL ST to top of CH3 (48)

      R4.    CH1, Working in BLO only. 2 SC, SC INC, (3 SC, SC INC) 11x, SL ST to  top of CH1 (60)

      R5.    CH3, 1 DC, 1 DC INC (4 DC, 1 DC INC) 11x, 2 DC, SL ST to top of CH3 (72)

      R6.    CH3, 4 DC, DC INC  (5 DC, 1 DC INC) 11x, SL ST to top of CH3 (84)

      R7.    CH2, Working in BLO only, HDC in each stitch, SL ST to top of CH2 (84)

      R8.    CH2, HDC in each stitch, SL ST to top of  CH2 (84)

      R9.    CH3, 4 DC, DC DEC, (5 DC, 1 DC DEC) 11x, SL ST to top of CH3 (72)

      R10.  CH3, 1 DC, 1 DC DEC (4 DC, 1 DC DEC)11x, 2 DC, SL ST to top of CH3 (60)

      R11.  CH1, SC around, SL ST, Finish off. Weave in ends. (60)

      TO WORK IN CONTINUOUS ROUNDS USE A STITCH MARKER AND DO NOT CHAIN OR SLIP STITCH BUT ADD 1 OF THAT ROUND’S STITCHES
